Kia DC Entertainment Justice League Custom Vehicle Unveiling
Kia Motors America (KMA) and DC Entertainment kicked off the 2012 SEMA Show in superhero style with five radical machines inspired by the members of the Justice League: The Flash Forte Koup, Aquaman Rio 5-door, Cyborg Forte 5-door, Green Lantern Soul and the previously unveiled Batman Optima.
Built by West Coast Customs, RIDES and Super Street, each of the vehicles feature custom artwork by legendary comic book artist and DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Jim Lee and are intended to raise awareness for DC Entertainment’s “We Can Be Heroes” giving campaign to help fight the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa.
The Batman-themed Optima is the first of a series of eight customized Kia cars that will be released over the next 10 months, with each model representing a character from DC’s Justice League.
Kia worked together with DC Entertainment and RIDES magazine to design and manufacture Batman’s Optima that receives a matte- and piano-black paint scheme with yellow accents and LED lights along with a lowered suspension, a ground effects kit, Ksport performance brakes, custom-designed 20-inch black wheels and a performance exhaust system.
Other exterior details worth mentioning is the custom front grille shaped like a batwing and the bat signal etched into the HID headlights.
The Optima’s interior is upgraded with special seating surfaces in black leather and suede with bold yellow accent stitching, while there’s also a Bat suit and cowl awaiting the driver in the trunk.
Built by GoGoGear, the Optima Hybrid Pacecar has been fitted with a free-flow air intake system, Magnaflow exhaust system, coil-over suspension kit to lower the ride height, front splitter and rear wing, lightweight wheels and performance tires.
Other highlights include a black exterior paintwork with lime-green graphics and LED auxiliary lights, while GoGoGear also updated the interior with a not so pacecar-like 2,400-watt audio and video system with dual seven-inch monitors in the front-seat headrests.
Kia said that the Optima Hybrid Safety Car will make its first appearance at the USTCC in March of 2012.

In addition, there are two flat-screen TVs mounted in the back of the front headrests that are linked to a Microsoft X-Box video game console while a “Pop-A-Shot” basketball hoop has been fitted in the trunk.
