Other enhancements to the 2013 model year lineup of the Juke include the addition of a RearView Monitor to the Navigation Package on SV models, a revised Rockford Fosgate ecoPUNCH audio system for the SV Navigation Package, which is standard on SL models, and three new color options named Atomic Gold, Brilliant Silver and Pearl White.
For 2013, the Juke continues to be offered with an 188hp 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants.
The new Juke Nismo will go on sale in Europe in early 2013, with Japan and the U.S. to follow at a later date.
The Nismo badge brings a host of enhancements to the Juke starting with a tuned-up version of its 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine.
Nissan has not yet disclosed performance figures, but for the record, in regular trim, the 1.6-liter turbocharged unit delivers 188hp (190PS) and 240Nm (177 lb-ft) of peak torque.
It features stiffened suspension settings and new steering modifications for what Nissan describes as a “sportier direct handling and improved traction control”, while the Nismo model will also be available with torque vectoring, which is a technology promising better grip and cornering capacity.
On the outside, the Juke Nismo can be identified by the new aerodynamics kit that bundles a new front bumper with a lip spoiler and LED daytime running lights, wider wings and sill side skirts, a modified front grille, a new rear bumper housing a diffuser and a single exhaust tail pipe, plus a tailgate spoiler and red trim accents and decals.
The sporty crossover rides on newly designed alloy wheels wrapped in lower profile tires.
The Nismo treatment inside includes re-trimmed steering wheel, pedals, gauges, gear knob and door panels plus new sport seats dressed in suede with red-stitching.
After taking on supercars and the streets of Dubai in Desert Nemesis, Lucas Ordonez is back in Europe — but this isn’t the Spanish sunshine he’s used to. Revved up and ready to go, Lucas and the Nissan Juke-R have to get a grip on the Losna Isbane Ice Track.
We pit the new Nissan Juke-R against the GT-R to find out which is quickest around Bedford Autodrome…
So how did the Juke-R and GT-R compare on a lap of the south circuit at Bedford Autodrome?
The supercar went first, when the track was still slightly damp, but the low-down thrust of its engine came to the fore as it recorded a time of 65.8 seconds.
By the time the Juke-R went against the stopwatch, the track had dried out a bit. The less aerodynamic shape held the car back over the circuit’s long straights, and it took 1.3 seconds longer, with a time of 67.1 seconds — a sterling effort considering its less powerful engine and additional weight.
