2014 Jaguar F-type: Finally, an E-type Successor! [Ignition Episode 65]

On this episode of Ignition, Kim Reynolds heads to Pamplona, Spain to have a look at some of Jaguar’s classic entries in the sports car realm, and also to get his hands on their latest convertible sports car, the F-Type.

The F-type has an all-aluminum body and a new all-aluminum, 3.0-liter supercharged direct-injection V-6 based on the 5.0-liter V-8, with balance shafts, a dual independent variable cam timing system, and a Roots-type twin vortex supercharger mounted in the engine’s vee.

Jaguar has given us three different versions, the V6, V6S, and V8s, to play with, so we’re taking them out to the mountains of Spain to see which one best represents Jaguar’s new spiritual E-type successor.
