2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta vs 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 vs 2013 Porsche 911 C4S! [Head 2 Head Episode 42]

On this episode of Head 2 Head, Carlos Lago and Randy Pobst restage our annual Best Driver’s Car competition with this year’s winning Porsche 911 Carrera 4S plus two contenders that missed the initial dance, the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the explosive, exotic Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.

The Ferrari is the most powerful car we’ve ever taken around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with its ferocious 6.3-liter 731 horsepower V-12.

The Corvette comes packing the latest version of GM’s venerable small block, a 6.2-liter cam-in-block V-8 that kicks out 460 hp and 465 pound-feet of torque.

The Porsche and its relatively tiny 3.8-liter flat-6 might seem out gunned, but remember that for the last two years the 911 has beaten back every BDC challenger we’ve thrown at it.

Does the Corvette have what it takes to dethrone the 911? Does the wailing Ferrari? Watch and find out!

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51! Testing the New High Tech Vette! [Ignition Episode 77]

Finally! On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago gets behind the wheel of Chevrolet’s hotly anticipated 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51, the most technologically advanced production Corvette ever made.

First, Carlos heads to the test track to put the reborn 460hp V8-powered Stingray through the full barrage of Motor Trend’s instrumented tests: 0-60 mph acceleration, quarter mile, 60-0 mph braking, lateral acceleration, and figure-eight.

The raw data backs up what Carlos can already feel from the driver’s seat - the 2014 Corvette goes fast, stops quick and handles corners with ease. Then, its off to the winding roads of Central California to see how the C7 Vette’s continuously variable-locking differential, magnetic damping, rev matching and other high-tech features perform in the real world.

Mark Reuss and the 2014 Corvette Stingray Pace Car
“The all-new, 2014 Corvette Stingray proved at Indy that it’s at home on the racetrack, and we’re excited to bring it home to Motown to pace the Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit,” said Mark Reuss, General Motors North America President. “To be able to drive this car, on this track, in this city, is a huge thrill for me personally, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel to pace this great field.”
Like its regular coupe brethren that goes on sale later this year with a suggested starting retail price of $51,995, which includes an $895 destination fee, the Corvette Stingray Pace Car sports a newly designed 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 that was recently SAE-certified at 455hp (461PS) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque in base trim and 460hp (466PS) and 465 lb-ft with the optional performance exhaust.

New Autobots in Transformers 4: A New Optimus Truck, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, 1967 Chevy Camaro SS (Bumblebee) and 2014 Corvette Stingray

A new-look Optimus Prime has been snapped on the set of Michael Bay’s upcoming ‘Transformers 4’, accompanied by two mystery Autobots - but who are those robots in disguise?

The mystery production pics show the “classy” looking black and blue Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse, worth an estimated £1.6 million, and what Bay calls a “special race-inspired” electric green C7 Corvette, which we’re guessing ain’t cheap either.

The second car is a striking electric green Corvette Stingray, which director Michael Bay says is a “special race-inspired” model .

However, it has not yet been announced which characters will be played by the new cars, while speculation suggests a revival of the Deceptacon (bad guy) bounty hunter Lockdown or even Dinobots. The cast is also getting some new members including comedian TJ Miller, who will co-star along Mark Wahlberg and the regulars.

Despite building what is unquestionably the ugliest C7 Corvette Stingray in the world, Transformers 4 successfully made a pretty-looking Bumblebee out of a 1967 Camaro.

Render! Callaway 2014 Corvette Stingray AeroWagon

Callaway calls the third body style after the factory coupe and convertible models, the AeroWagon. The attachment, which extends the C7’s roofline and adds a more upright rear window structure and hatch, will be manufactured in Callaway’s proprietary RTM process for structural carbon parts.
The Connecticut-based tuner of Corvettes and Camaros, said the AeroWagon will be offered as an option for under $15,000, and when paired to its upcoming “Callaway C7”, which we assume will be more powerful than the regular 450hp Stingray, will be able to go over 200mph (322+ km/h).
The company is already accepting pre-orders for the car on its official website.
