Preview: 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Turbo Performance Concept

The sported-up study is named the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept and it’s based on the fastest production Malibu ever, which in stock guise, is motivated by a 2.0-liter force-fed four generating 259 horsepower for a 0 to 60 mph (100km/h) sprint in 6.3 seconds and a maximum speed of 155 mph (250km/h).

The concept is featured in a Berlin Blue Tricoat exterior paint and is given a more aggressive look through a ground effects package that includes a front splitter, rocker panels, rear diffuser and a boot-mounted wing.

The aero package works together with new 20-inch alloys shod in Pirelli PZero 255/35ZR20 tires, custom lower grille and fog lamp grilles with red surrounds, clear tail lamp lenses and turbo badges.

Inside, Chevy tells us (but doesn’t share any images) the Malibu is fitted with RECARO sport seats trimmed in Jet Black leather and Navy Blue suede with red accent stitching, with the same materials and colors also found on the flat-bottom steering wheel, door panels and instrument panel.

Performance modifications include a HiPer Strut front suspension and rear springs, six-piston front brake calipers with two-piece cross-drilled rotors and a prototype cold-air intake system, which the carmaker says can help the 2.0L engine make more power without releasing any specific numbers.
